Learning objectives Upon completion of the full program, participants will be able to:
  1. Describe key similarities and differences between IFS and EMDR therapy and identify principles that support their clinical integration.
  2. Explain how an IFS-informed framework can be incorporated into EMDR case conceptualization, treatment planning, and parts mapping during Phase 1.
  3. Identify IFS-informed approaches to protector consent, stabilization, resource development, and assessment during EMDR Phases 2 and 3.
  4. Describe ways IFS-informed interventions can be incorporated into EMDR Phases 4-8 during desensitization, installation, body scan, closure, and reevaluation.
  5. Identify ways therapist parts and Self-awareness may influence integrative trauma treatment.
Presenter Daphne Fatter, PhD is a licensed psychologist, EMDR-certified clinician, and EMDRIA Approved Consultant with approximately 20 years of clinical experience providing trauma treatment. She is certified in Internal Family Systems therapy and has completed more than 460 hours of IFS training. Dr. Fatter is an international trainer and author specializing in integrative trauma-informed therapies and is the author of the book featured in this series.
Continuing education 3 NBCC clock hours are available for eligible participants. Participants must attend all three sessions live and in their entirety and complete the program evaluation following the final session. Partial NBCC credit is not available. This program is approved for EMDRIA continuing education credit. Sessions are recorded and may be available to Book Club members for later viewing; however, viewing a recording does not qualify for NBCC credit.
Eligibility & registration Eligibility: Participants must be EMDR-trained clinicians and members of The EMDR Learning Community. Registration: Enrollment in the EMDR Book Club ($20/month) within The EMDR Learning Community constitutes registration for the three-session series.

What is the EMDR Book Club?

A live, interactive book club for EMDR therapists. Each series focuses on one book and meets live over several sessions for discussion, clinical application, and Q&A with the author or a featured facilitator.

Who can join?

The Book Club is for EMDR-trained clinicians. Membership in The EMDR Learning Community is required because live sessions and everything else are accessed through the community, but community membership is free.

How much does it cost?

$20/month for the Book Club. Membership in The EMDR Learning Community is free. You can cancel anytime.

How do I cancel?

You can cancel anytime from your account settings in The EMDR Learning Community. Mighty Networks, the platform that hosts the community, has step-by-step instructions.

Can I join partway through a series?

Absolutely, and we’d love to have you! You just won’t be eligible for continuing education credit for a series you join partway through.

When and where do sessions meet?

Sessions are held on Thursdays at 11:00 AM Mountain / 1:00 PM Eastern, live on Google Meet. Dates for each series are listed above.

How do I join a live session?

The Google Meet link will be emailed to you the day before each session.

What continuing education credits are available?

The EMDR Learning Community is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP No. 8191), and the Book Club series listed on this page are approved for EMDRIA continuing education credit. For NBCC credit, you must attend all sessions of a series live and in their entirety and complete the program evaluation. Partial credit is not available.
